Friday, March 21, 2014 has officially started experimenting Brave Dreams also IRCCS Carlo Besta Neurological Institute in Milan, with the first treatment of PTA (of course nobody knows, in accordance with the provisions of the double-blind protocol , if the intervention of PTA was actually carried out or whether it was just a simulation of intervention ) performed on a young patient from Lombard time in care at the center of Milan.
This first patient Brave Dreams Lombard - we constantly followed both before and after surgery - stressed the professionalism and courtesy of the team, as well as the seriousness of the pre-and post - intervention procedures that are at the heart of the trial, with the resulting mass data that will be available at the end of the trial .
The start of the Brave Dreams Besta is in our opinion a very important step in the fight to support the recognition of CCSVI , by virtue of the high regard in which the historian has neurological institute in Milan.
At the same time it is also a source of pride for the Association of CCSVI and MS Lombardy that as long ago as December 2012 ( http://www.ccsvi-lombardia.org/?p=1558 # more- 1558 ) heralded the beginning of the experimentation and then worked quietly in collaboration with the Region of Lombardy and Besta Institute to help solve the last bureaucratic obstacles and finally reach the start of the experiment, albeit with delays of several months .
In line with what is clearly required by Prof. Zamboni at the conference held in Cremona during the month of October 2013 , we recommend to our readers to present itself at Milan , now officially active in the Brave Dreams ( after checking the criteria for inclusion in the link (http://www.ospfe.it/reparti-e-servizi/reparti-dalla-a-alla-m-1/clinica-chirurgica/clinica-chirurgica-eccellenze/ricerca-diagnosi-e-trattamento-sclerosi-multipla/brave-dreams-sogni-coraggiosi), to be included in the trial and to allow neurologists Besta to complete as soon as the patient recruitment in the expected number for their structure
At the moment this should be the only center in Lombard will be actively involved in the Brave Dreams , with thirty patients, but there is still hope that the team of prof. Zamboni able to report to our association Lombard other centers that have passed the first stage of inclusion in the trial , including the part of operational instructions , so that the association will be activated at the institutional level in order to unlock any bureaucratic obstacles and facilitate the ' start of the trial as it did at the Besta .
A special thanks , on behalf of CCSVI and MS Lombardy and on behalf of all those who will participate in this trial , the leadership and the department Besta Neurological Institute , the director Parolini , Dr. Ceredigion and many of our members who - contrary to uninformed rumors pointed to numerous message boards every now and Facebook - have worked quietly but constructively , to achieve this important outcome.
Anyone wishing more information about Brave Dreams experimentation going on at the Besta and , more generally, information about the current situation CCSVI in Lombardy can meet us at the next meeting that we held in Varese on Saturday, April 12, 2014 , in conjunction with the annual meeting of members and the election of the new Board of Directors
